Birla Global University and BCKIC sign MoU on innovation and Knowledge Creation

Birla Global University added another feather to its cap by signing a MoU with Bhubaneswar City Knowledge Innovation Cluster (BCKIC) on 23rd July, 2021 in the BGU Seminar Hall. BCKIC is an initiative by the Office of the Principal Scientific Advisor to the Government of India, set up under the direction of the PM-STIAC to seamlessly connect research institutions, academia, industry and corporate towards creation of a Hub & Spoke Model, actively following innovation and knowledge creation. The program was graced by Prof.(Dr.) P.P.Mathur, Vice Chancellor, BGU; Prof.(Dr) B.K.Das, Registrar, BGU;  Dr. Mrutyunjay Suar, Chairman, BCKIC; Dr. Prashant Singh, CEO, BCKIC, Prof.(Dr) Samson Moharana, Dean, Birla School of Commerce and Prof.(Dr.) Parameswar Nayak, Dean, Birla School of Management. This MOU sets forth the intentions of creating a shared S&T eco-system by increasing interactions of the faculty and students of member institutes of the BCKIC with each other as well as with external stakeholders such as industry, philanthropic organizations and the general public, with the Birla Global University, Bhubaneswar, Bhubaneswar becoming a formal member of the S&T cluster post singing of this MOU. This will target identifying the areas of potential collaborations and cooperation, without creating any legally binding commitments Prof. Samson Moharana welcomed the dignitaries to the program. Prof. B.K.Das emphasized on importance & purpose of the MoU signed with BCKIC and how it would be a win-win situation for both BGU and BCKIC. Prof. Mathur addressed the faculty members of all schools of BGU and emphasized on the importance of innovation for society and nation building. Dr. Mrutyunjay Suar expressed his exuberance on joining hands with BGU. He apprised the gathering with the functions of BCKIC and insisted on setting up of an Incubation centre at BGU. He also motivated the faculty members to contribute to the Knowledge Cluster for all round development of BGU as an innovation centre. The program ended with formal vote of thanks by Mrs. Lopamudra Nayak, Assistant Professor, Birla School of Commerce.
