Bargain Boss

Objectives of the Event:
The main goal of ‘Bargain Boss’ was to enhance students’ skills in negotiation, teamwork, communication, and decision-making. Designed to simulate real-world HR scenarios, the event offered participants practical experience in crafting effective bargaining and deal-making strategies. It aimed to promote critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaborative engagement among students from the BBA, BCom, and MBA programs at Birla Global University.

Event Description:
The HR Club of Birla Global University successfully hosted ‘Bargain Boss’ on 15th February (Saturday) at 10:00 AM on the university campus. This required participants to demonstrate their bargaining skills, effective communication, and collaboration under competitive pressure.

A panel of faculty members and students observed the negotiation process and provided valuable feedback. They evaluated the teams on their negotiation strategies, persuasion techniques, communication skills, and overall problem-solving abilities. The event concluded with a discussion on best practices in negotiation. The winners were announced based on their problem-solving abilities, teamwork, and strategic negotiation skills.

Report on HR Club 'Hruday' Activity for MBA 1st Year Students

Date: 11th September 2024
Organized by: HR Club ‘Hruday’
Participants: MBA 1st Year Students

The HR Club ‘Hruday’ organized an engaging and interactive session for the MBA 1st-year students on 11th September 2024. The event featured two exciting activities: Mind Maze and Papyrus Pass. These activities were designed to enhance teamwork, negotiation skills, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities among students.

Activity 1: Mind Maze

In the Mind Maze challenge, seniors provided each team with cut pieces of three different cards. Some of the pieces were with the respective team members, while others were distributed among different teams. The objective was to complete all three cards by negotiating and exchanging pieces with other teams. Only one member from each team was allowed to negotiate at a time. The team that successfully completed all three cards first was declared the winner. This activity tested the participants’ negotiation skills, communication abilities, and decision-making strategies.

Activity 2: Papyrus Pass

The second activity, Papyrus Pass, focused on creativity, teamwork, and structural engineering. Seniors provided each team with a few sheets of newspaper and cello tape. Using only these materials, the teams were required to construct a bridge within 30 minutes. The strength and durability of the bridge were then tested to determine the winning team. The team that built the strongest and most stable bridge emerged as the winner. This activity encouraged students to think innovatively and work collaboratively under a time constraint.

Conclusion

The event was a great success, fostering an environment of learning, collaboration, and fun among the MBA 1st-year students. Both activities helped participants develop essential
managerial skills such as negotiation, teamwork, creativity, and strategic planning. The HR Club ‘Hruday’ effectively created an engaging platform for students to apply practical problem-solving approaches in a simulated corporate setting.

The HR Club looks forward to organizing more such interactive and skill-building activities in the future to enhance students’ learning experiences beyond the classroom.
