
The commencement day ceremony of the 2025-27 MBA batch at Birla School of Management, Birla Global University (BGU), was held on July 8, 2025. The day began with a Puja, setting a spiritual and auspicious tone. The ceremony was graced by the Chief Guest, Mr. Sundeep Singh, Managing Director, Accenture Strategy & Consulting, B.Tech (IIT Delhi), MBA (IIM Kozhikode), an Author and Marathoner. It opened with the soulful rendition of the BGU Kulgeet, infusing the event with energy and pride.
Prof. Parameswar Nayak, Dean of the School of Management, delivered the inaugural address, warmly welcoming the guests, parents, and students. He introduced the concept of DHARMA, highlighting discipline, hard work, humility, adaptability, resilience, managing by common sense, and agility as guiding principles for the incoming cohort.
Ms. Aiswariya Ray, a second-year MBA student, shared her experiences at BGU, emphasizing the many opportunities for learning and growth. This was followed by an address by Dr. B. K. Das, Registrar of BGU, who spoke about the University's journey and foundational values. Further, Mr. Kateswar Karthik, an alumnus of Birla School of Management, shared insights from his transition from campus to the corporate world.
The event's highlight was an inspiring inaugural address by Mr. Sundeep Singh, who drew from his experiences as a student and an industry leader. Using analogies from his life as a marathoner, he urged students to aim for global standards, stay adaptable in a fast-changing world, and lead a disciplined life, stressing that discipline forms the foundation of long-term success. He advised them to avoid negative influences, surround themselves with positivity, remain humble regardless of achievements, and set clear, meaningful goals to pursue with passion, perseverance, and integrity.
Prof. Kulbhushan Balooni, Vice Chancellor of Birla Global University, addressed the gathering, highlighting the university’s modern infrastructure—smart classrooms, advanced labs, libraries, and residential facilities—that foster a productive learning environment. He emphasized BGU’s holistic academic ecosystem, which blends classroom instruction with industry exposure, co-curricular activities, and personal mentoring to develop confident, competent, and socially responsible professionals.
Dr. Snigdha Mohapatra, Program Coordinator for MBA, delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all contributors. A tree plantation ceremony with all dignitaries followed, reflecting BGU's deep commitment to sustainability. The session ended with a communal lunch, fostering informal interaction between students, parents, and faculty.
Classes for the MBA 2025-27 batch will commence on July 23, 2025, following the conclusion of the orientation program on July 22.
