National Conference on Communication Management

Day 1 of the National Conference on Communication Management, organised by Birla Global University in association with Adfactors PR, explored the shift from conventional search to AI-driven “zero-click” answers.

The Inaugural Session commenced with opening remarks from Convenor Mr Suresh Kumar Golle and Chairperson Dr. Shiv Shankar Das. The keynote address was delivered by Guest of Honour Dr. Anupam Das (Associate Professor, IIM Kozhikode), while the Chief Guest, Dr. Samir Kapur (Director, Adfactors PR), shared his insights on reimagining communication management. This was followed by an address by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Kulbhushan Balooni, and concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Gyanaranjan Mishra (Assistant Professor & PRO).

The first panel discussion, on reputation and risk, was moderated by Dr. Sruthi Rajan, with valuable perspectives from Dr. Samir Kapur, Mr. Sudhi Ranjan Mishra (General Manager, Corporate Affairs and Government Relations, Jindal Stainless Limited), and Mr. Pravin Shiriyannavar (COO, Integrated Brandcom Pvt Ltd).

The second panel discussion, themed “Data, AI and Dialogue”, was moderated by Dr. Mehul Agarwal, featuring insights from Mr. Anish Chowdhary (Senior Manager – Communications, Swiggy), Ms. Ankita Moharana (Lead Account Manager, JB Consulting), and Ms. Priyankita Praharaj (Communication Specialist, Asia-Pacific, Avnet).

Across sessions, discussions underscored the importance of authenticity, transparency, and meaningful communication in a rapidly evolving digital landscape. While AI enhances efficiency, human creativity, judgement, and ethics remain indispensable.

The conference also marked the launch of the MBA in Communication at Birla Global University, to be offered from the academic year 2026–27.

Day 2 of the National Conference on Communication Management, organised by Birla Global University in association with Adfactors PR, focused on insightful technical sessions and the valedictory ceremony, bringing the conference to a meaningful close.
The Technical Session–I (offline presentations), held at the Design Block, was chaired by Dr. Purnendu Kumar Patra, with Dr. Mehul Agarwal as Co-Chair. Parallelly, Technical Session–II (online presentations) at the Seminar Hall was chaired by Dr. Sree Pavani Vanteddu, with Dr. Sruthi Rajan as Co-Chair. Both sessions provided a platform for participants to present research and exchange ideas on emerging trends in communication and management.

The Valedictory Session commenced with welcoming guests and dignitaries by Dr. Monazir Abbas. This was followed by the closing address delivered by the Chairperson, Dr. Shiv Shankar Das. The conference report was presented by Mr. Suresh Kumar Golle, summarising key discussions and outcomes.
An address by the Guest of Eminence, Shri Satyabrat Ratho (Co-Founder & Director, Prelude Novel Ventures Pvt. Ltd.), highlighted the evolving role of communication in today’s digital era. Prof. B. K. Das also addressed the gathering, reflecting on the significance of such academic engagements.

The session concluded with the distribution of certificates, followed by a vote of thanks by Ms. Anwesha Padhi, and ended with a group photo and lunch.
The conference successfully brought together academia and industry, reinforcing the importance of innovation, collaboration, and ethical communication in a rapidly changing landscape.
