The Birla School of Communication at Birla Global University organised a two-day film festival on 24 and 25 March, bringing together a vibrant confluence of stories, perspectives, and participants under one cinematic roof.
Titled Filmosophy’26, the festival opened with an inspiring address by Ms Biyot Projna Tripathy (filmmaker, lawyer and author) and Mr Himansu Sekhar Khatua (filmmaker and Chairman, BPFTI), setting a reflective and engaging tone for the proceedings. Over the course of the event, the festival witnessed enthusiastic participation from leading institutions, including Birla Global University, Xavier Institute of Communications (Mumbai), Manipal Institute of Communication, St Xavier’s University (Kolkata), and iLEAD (Kolkata).
The two-day programme was marked by a dynamic exchange of ideas, creative showcases, and meaningful conversations, capturing the diverse voices shaping contemporary visual storytelling. The mindfully curated event was one in which the students as well as alumni took the centre stage as experts and panelists, respectively. The valedictory session, graced by Mr Pranab Aich (filmmaker and photographer), provided a fitting conclusion, underscoring the significance of cinema as both an artistic and intellectual pursuit.
More than a conventional festival, Filmosophy’26 emerged as a shared space of cinematic exploration, fostering connection, dialogue, and curiosity, leaving a lasting impression on all who participated.
