Birla School of Commerce Hosts Seminar on Viksit Bharat

Birla School of Commerce, Birla Global University organized a one-day seminar on Viksit Bharat with the aim of seeking ideas from the students for a developed India by 2047. Rtn. Jayashree Mohanty, District Governor Rotary International, co-founder & President Luminous Infoways, Member Start-up Task force, founding chair CII IWN graced the seminar as Chief Guest. Prof. Bhabani Shankar Nayak, Professor of Business Management, London Metropolitan University was the guest of honour.

Rtn. Jayashree Mohanty focused on women empowerment and various milestones achieved by women in the society. She also discussed the need of desire among youth particularly needed to achieve the economic goals along with the start-up ecosystem.

Prof. Bhabani Shankar Nayak spoke on various driving forces leading towards Viksit Bharat by highlighting on the difference between need-based society versus desire-based society. He said in the long term, the economy should stress on evacuation of illiteracy, ill-health, poverty, etc.

In his address, Prof. Mathur, Vice Chancellor, Birla Global University discussed about a future-centric development and the need for modern health care and education system in a developed India. Prof. B. K. Das,Registrar, Birla Global University, said Odisha is rapidly transforming into a hub of opportunities and have a competitive advantage in contributing to the national economy.

In his welcome address Prof. Samson Moharana, Dean, Birla School of Commerce, analysed various challenges of the Indian economy and how the challenges can be turned into opportunities to become a developed economy.

The session was followed by Youth Presentation Competition where 24 students’ teams from all over Odisha participated and the winners were awarded with certificate and cash prize. The seminar was coordinated by Mrs. Lopamudra Nayak, and Mr. Aswini Kumar Bhuyan Assistant Professors, Birla School of Commerce. Dr. R. K Mishra proposed the vote of thanks.
