Commencement Day Ceremony – BBA Program, 2025 Batch

Category: Media Coverage Date: 24 Jul 2025

Birla School of Management, BGU, inaugurated the BBA 2025 batch on 24th July, 2025, with a traditional Saraswati Vandana, lighting of the ceremonial lamp, and the BGU anthem. Prof. Parameswar Nayak, Dean of BSOM, welcomed the gathering and introduced ethics, AI & robotics, and the 4Cs—Curiosity, Courage, Communication, and Control of Emotions—as guiding principles for the students. He encouraged them to "learn more, work more, expect less, and live peacefully."

Mr. Sumanshu kumar Sahu, a third-year BBA student, shared his transformative journey at BGU, emphasizing the university’s focus on holistic growth through various student clubs, NSS, fitness initiatives, and leadership opportunities. “BGU doesn’t just educate, it empowers,” he said.

Alumnus Mr. Amlan Kumar Acharya (BBA 2018–21), now an HR Manager, inspired the audience with insights on resilience, failure, and empathy: “Fall better, learn better, and lead with kindness.”

Dr. B.K. Das, Registrar of BGU, spoke about the institution’s evolution—from just 12 BBA students in 2013 to a thriving community today—highlighting its values of discipline, academic rigor, and responsible citizenship.

Dr. Prashant Deshpandey, Sr. VP–HR at Reliance Retail Ltd., Mumbai, addressed students as “professional scholars,” underscoring the importance of self-driven learning, understanding real-time business dynamics, and embracing AI not as a threat, but a transformative force. “Peers are not just competitors, but collaborators,” he affirmed.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Kulbhushan Balooni reflected on the Birla legacy and BGU’s commitment to a well-rounded academic environment, urging students to engage in co-curricular pursuits, communicate effectively, ask meaningful questions, and grow into dynamic, tech-savvy leaders.

The ceremony concluded with a Pledge of Honour led by Prof. Nayak and a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Saswati Tripathy, BBA Program Coordinator.
