Birla School of Commerce (BSoC), Birla Global University, Bhubaneswar, organized the Commencement Day to welcome its 3rd batch of BCom (Hons) and MCom students at its Gothapatana Campus on 23rd July 2019. The program was graced by Dr.Rabi Narayan Senapati, IAS (Retd.), Chairman,5th State Finance Commission Government of Odisha, as Chief Guest, Dr.Parag Diwan, CEO, Paradigm Consultants and Resource Management Pvt. Ltd. and CA Rajib Sekhar Sahoo, Senior CA, Financial and Management Consultant, as Guests of Honour. While delivering the Commencement Day address, Dr.Senapati advised the students to follow the three Ds; Dedication, Discipline and Determination. He aptly focused on the real life assets and liabilities we have as humans. He expressed how he would love to have been a part of the school of commerce. Dr.Parag Diwan, the Guest of Honour, advised the students to work hard. He spoke about the steps and leaps taken to make this stream a distinct stream. CA Rajib Sekhar Sahoo focused on how commerce stands out as the most practical course. Prof.Sudhakar Panda, Vice Chancellor, Birla Global University, assured the students that they will enjoy their stay during their studentship here. The Registrar of BGU Dr B.K.Das, stated that the Birla Global University stands for quality and assured that all attempts shall be made to provide them the best of commerce education and exclaimed how glorifying it is to see the commerce department grow, in such a short span. Prof Samson Moharana, Dean,BSoC, delivered the welcome address, and spoke about the importance of commerce with respect to both bachelors and masters degree. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof Lopamudra Nayak, Faculty of BSoC.
