Birla School of Management (BSoM), Birla Global University, Bhubaneswar, organized the Commencement Day to welcome its 4th batch of BBA (Hons) students at its Gothapatna Campus on 24th July 2019. The day began with welcome address by Dr Parameshwar Nayak, Dean, Birla School of Management. He motivated and advised the students of new batch with the mention of ABCD philosophy of life for becoming successful in personal and professional life. ABCD; A- by practicing a good attitude, inculcating and B- exhibiting good behaviour, C & D- building on competency and being discipline. The program was graced by Mr. Chandrasekhar Mukherjee, Chief People Officer, South Indian Bank, as Chief Guest, Dr. Parag Diwan, CEO, Paradigm Consultants and Resource Management Pvt. Ltd. as Guest of Honour. While delivering the Commencement Day address, Mr. Mukherjee advised the students to have a positive attitude, acquire knowledge and skills for employability. He aptly focused on how the following parameters like good value system, knowledge, and power of teamwork and grooming, plays a vital role in corporate career. Dr.Parag Diwan, the Guest of Honour, advised the students to work hard. He spoke about the steps and leaps taken to make this stream a distinct stream. Dr Sarat Acharaya, National Professor & Advisor, Birla Global University illuminated students by sharing his rich industry experience and focused on the role and nature of Gen Y at workplace and the how Gen Y integrating knowledge and technology by making use of AI and data analysis. Prof. Sudhakar Panda, Vice Chancellor, Birla Global University, assured the students that they will enjoy their stay during their studentship here. He also stressed that as an individual students need to be responsible, work hard and earn respect for themselves. The Registrar of BGU Dr B.K. Das, stated that the Birla Global University stands for quality and assured that all attempts shall be made to provide them the best of business education and exclaimed how glorifying it is to see the growth in BBA students year after year. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr Snigdha Mohapatra.
