Brief Profile

Prof Moharana is presently working as Dean, School of Commerce, and in additional Charge of Dean of School of Communication of Birla Global University.

He is the former Professor, Head and Dean, Utkal University where he served for more than 37 years in different capacities. He was the Comptroller of Finance, Chairman, Post Graduate Council, Chairman, SRC, Board of Studies in Commerce of Utkal and several other universities of the country. As the Director of College Development Council (CDC) for more than 3 years, he was in charge of supervising more than 300 affiliated colleges of Utkal University. He was instrumental in getting the grant sanctioned in favor of Colleges with Potential for Excellence and women hostels.

Prof Moharana was nominated to the SAP Board of Advisors of two central universities, namely, Pondicherry University, Department of Commerce and Punjab University, Department of Commerce for 5 years. For more than 10 years, he has been the member of the peer team of NAAC and expert member of UGC for MRPs. Professor Moharana was a Member of 5^th State Finance Commission, Govt of Odisha. He is also the Independent director in different state PSUs nominated by the Government of Odisha.

He has produced 18 Ph,Ds under his guidance and published 65 research papers in different national level journals. His area of expertise is Finance and Entrepreneurship where he has written two books. At present, Prof Moharana is also the member of State Audit Advisory Board ,AG office, nominated by CAG, Govt of India and member of Utkal University Syndicate nominated by the Chancellor and Governor of Odisha for a four year period from 2021 to 2025. As a senior Professor in Commerce, Professor Moharana has been regularly visiting different universities in India in connection with delivering guest lectures, resource persons in seminars, FDPs, examiners and experts in Ph.D Viva.
