Monazir Abbas is an Assistant Professor of French and Francophone Studies, holding a doctorate in French cinema from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. His scholarly interests include French cinema, French and Francophone literature, and Translation Studies. He has taught at distinguished institutions such as Jamia Millia Islamia and Jawaharlal Nehru University, and from April 2024 till August 2025, he was associated with the French Institute in India, where he actively fostered cultural exchange, collaborations, and the promotion of cinema between India and France. A recipient of the Junior Research Fellowship (2018), Abbas continues to contribute to academic discourse through his research publications.

Experience
Monazir Abbas has taught as Visiting Faculty of French at premier institutions including Jamia Millia Islamia, Amity University (Noida), and Jawaharlal Nehru University. From April 2024 to August 2025, he was associated with the French Institute in India, fostering cultural exchange through cinema between France and India. In addition, from 2022 to 2025, Abbas contributed to the External Services Division of All India Radio as an announcer and translator, broadcasting Indian news in French for listeners in Francophone countries.
