Bio Sketch

Prof. Ram Upendra Das is Head & Professor at the Centre for Regional Trade, New Delhi, an autonomous institution set up by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. Prior to this, he was Professor at Research and Information System for Developing Countries (RIS), New Delhi where he served for 27 years, at different levels.

His broad areas of specialisation include international economics and development policy. With decades of research experience, he has contributed to various studies, including inter-governmental Joint Study Groups (JSGs), and international negotiating processes on behalf of Government of India, in the context of India’s economic engagements with other countries.
