Pursuing My Passion for Law through BGU

Author: Trishant Kumar Date: 18 Aug 2021

When I was a child, I wanted to end up as a lawyer because I was curious about the appearance of those elite folks that put on that black coat and could argue in those old Bollywood movies. It was a simple, pure, and pious dream for a 12 years old youngster like me but my real interest in this area passed off in my high school after I used to hang out with my friends from humanities who had legal studies as their subject and that they often use to discuss things in front of me watching that I began taking interest and started looking into their notes and study materials and took part of their discussion, usually spend my time studying their notes which include law books until I decided to build a carrier within the law area.

For the first time in my life, found I something of interest, and I knew I would give my 110% into this and as soon as I graduated from high school, I convinced my parents that I would like to study law and that law is the only thing I can do.

My parents agreed and saw the potential in me. I got into this very prestigious law school and had to shift from my hometown. I was scared and not exactly confident with this change in my life, but hey, "Everybody leaves their home sooner or later for a change, a change that has effects on the future and depends on the present."

I used to make mistakes but didn't know how to rectify them until someone could guide me. I use to be very careful before answering anything in class and it was a bit frustrating yet that came to an end when I found myself a whole family who not only guided me also taught me about what I have to do next for achieving my goals, they legit assisted me out not only in understanding the topics but helped me build confidence in myself.

Coming to a new place was like discovering something unknown and undetected. Myself a lucky person because I have got the best faculties I could ever ask. The teachers here gave me a whole new strength to discover and unleash the inner power to overcome the fear and explore the new possibilities of achieving my holy grail.

Attending lectures in the early morning no matter how tired you are, or you're ready or not, is one of the hardest things that happened to me, you are required to attend the lectures at the specified timetable yet as we know people usually dream about those things which they can't get until and unless they work on themselves, and all these lectures and classes are helping me in understanding the intricacies this subject holds and made me more dedicated to studying law, it has made me realized the importance of law in our society.

But well, I am glad that my law school presents many events which became an integral part of my life. These include enlightening seminars, conferences, and career events. These curricular activities become more important if one wants to understand in-depth topics and develop their research and writing skills.

We also have different societies in our college which help an individual to explore their interests. We have got various clubs for photography; media and the list are never-ending. It helps the students come out of their hectic study schedule and make them think our campus has got a basketball court, and that's where I live my life a little more. It helps me calm myself and makes me active in my upcoming tasks. I mean, a bit of creativity and fun is never harmful.

This pandemic has set off a different type of teaching we ought to sit down at our place and attend our lectures from our home that is overwhelming how our teachers are putting effort into delivering the things that they want us to understand. This pandemic didn't stop our dedicated faculty they did not lose hope and continued with educating us. We all understand the importance of law and how it helps us understand human logic and analyze real-life cases with logical clarity with a good grip over verbal and written communication.

I wish we could attend our lectures and enjoy the live interactions sitting in our favourite comfortable classroom. I wish we could go to our favorite fast-food stall outside of our campus and enjoy that Momo straight out from the plate.

I miss college, but more than that, I miss the company of my folk who always stood beside me and helped me become a better person in my life.
