The Finance Club of BSOM-BGU is a student-driven initiative for fostering a culture of Finance. It was established to enhance the financial knowledge of students through various events, activities, workshops, and knowledge-sharing sessions. Over the years, the club has adapted to the changing requirements and skill sets of incoming students and has inculcated them within its scope to help establish a strong foundation of financial knowledge outside the classroom.
The Finance Club organizes guest lectures in the finance domain wherein we host senior finance professionals from reputed companies who interact with the students of BSOM and share their vast knowledge and experience with them.
The Finance Club organizes workshops and quiz to promote financial literacy and awareness of financial markets among under-graduate and post-graduate students. At the end of the workshop, an online quiz is conducted to encourage and reward the best performing candidates
Birla Global University, Bhubaneswar organized a conclave, titled, Investors’ Psychology on Stock Market Trading – Recent Trends in the Indian Stock Market, for Economics and Finance specialization students on 22nd November, 2024. The Vice Chancellor and the Registrar of BGU, and Dean of BSOM graced the function and welcomed the guests. Dr. Raman Ballabh from NISM was the chief guest for the event along with Mr. Amit Sinha, VP Sales, PGIM Mutual Funds, Mr. Subhayu Das, AGM, BSE Institute Ltd., and Mr. SoumyaRanjanSahoo, Officer-in- charge, BSE Institute Ltd. They spoke on investor psychology and emphasized theimportance and significance of Behavioural Economics and Finance in thecontemporary society. Other faculty members of BSOM were also present. The event also included a quiz and a trading game for students from other universities and winners were felicitated at the end by Dr. Ballabh. This gave an opportunity to Economics and Finance students to mingle with BFSI industry experts and know about various opportunities in the sector along with their educational requirements.
