The Library Committee at Birla Global University is a forward-looking initiative of the University Library, created to build a vibrant culture of knowledge exchange, research support, and academic collaboration. Inspired by the timeless thought “An investment in knowledge pays the best interest” (Benjamin Franklin), the Committee acts as a bridge between information resources and the academic community, ensuring that knowledge flows seamlessly among students, faculty, and researchers.
The purpose of the Committee is to maximize the use of library resources, promote digital literacy, and foster a spirit of collaboration across disciplines. It encourages the University community to integrate both print and digital resources into their learning journey, while also supporting research and innovation.
The target aim of the Committee is to establish the University Library as a knowledge hub—a space that not only provides access to quality information but also cultivates intellectual curiosity, critical thinking, and lifelong learning. By connecting learners with innovative tools, curated resources, and collaborative opportunities, it seeks to empower students and faculty to achieve academic excellence.

Event Overview: The Library Conduit of Birla Global University Central Library organised a series of engaging events on April 23, 2025, to celebrate World Book and Copyright Day. The occasion was marked with activities such as the Anime Arena Quiz, Story Writing Contest, and Poster Making Competition, all curated to spark creativity and enthusiasm among students.
The celebration of World Book and Copyright Day at Birla Global University stands as a testimony to the university’s commitment to fostering knowledge and empowering its students. The seamless execution of activities such as the Anime Arena Quiz, Story Writing Contest, and Poster Making Competition reinforced the institution’s dedication to promoting awareness about the essential role of books, libraries, and intellectual property in education and innovation.
The enthusiasm of the participants, combined with the tireless efforts of the organizing team and volunteers, created an invigorating atmosphere that celebrated the essence of reading and creativity. This success reaffirms our belief in the power of books to unite, inspire, and transform lives, and strengthens our resolve to continue championing initiatives that empower students and enrich the academic culture of Birla Global University.

On August 12th, 2025, the Library Conduit of Birla Global University, Bhubaneswar, celebrated National Librarians’ Day with Book Talk, Movie Quiz, and Open Book Suggestion sessions. The Book Talk encouraged students and faculty to share personal reflections on their favorite reads, while the Movie Quiz tested participants’ cinematic knowledge in a lively competition. The Open Book Suggestion invited attendees to recommend impactful books, fostering peer-to-peer literary discovery. These activities aimed to promote reading habits, celebrate storytelling, and emphasize the library’s role in nurturing imagination, intellectual growth, and lifelong learning within the university community.
On 9th Sept 2025, the Library Committee & NSS Unit-2, BGU organized a Digital Literacy Outreach Programme at Kantabad High School, engaging 140 students of Classes IX & X.
