Birla Global University hosted an interactive session with Dr. Santrupt Misra, Group Director, Birla Carbon; Director, Chemicals; and Director, Group Human Resources for Aditya Birla Group on July 1, 2023.
Dr. Misra highlighted the relevance of the ability to think and emphasized the importance of real-life experiences in effectively resolving organizational crises. He emphasized that academic knowledge alone may not be sufficient to tackle complex challenges and stressed the need for practical wisdom gained through hands-on experiences.
In his address, he also shed light on the significance of establishing an emotional connect with employees. He emphasized that fostering a supportive and empathetic environment within an organization leads to better outcomes and enhanced productivity. Furthermore, he emphasized the importance of being a role model for employees, encouraging leaders to embody the qualities they seek in their team members. Speaking on the importance of motivating others, Dr. Misra said “You yourself have to be the role model you would look up to for motivation. Gandhiji said that you have to be the change that you want to see in others”. He further said that he was very disciplined and passionate about his work and that has fortunately inspired his team to be as enthusiastic as he would like them to be. He reiterated that “You must lead by example and follow the culture you want to inculcate.”
Dr. Misra was felicitated by Prof (Dr.) P. P. Mathur, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Birla Global University. The occasion was graced by Prof (Dr.) B.K Das, Registrar, Birla Global University, Dr. Parameswar Nayak, Dean, Birla School of Management, and was attended by faculty, staff and students of the University.
